this person i am today is someone i recognize

I woke up at 4 am wide awake.

Instead of waking up in a stressful panic, which is typical of me when i’m at my worst, i felt energized. I accepted my fate, had two cups of coffee, and watched CBS’s Sunday Morning programing (my favorite news source) on DVR. I took a long, hot shower, caught up on my internet news, and put on some normal layered clothes - the weather forecast today is a lovely 61 degrees.

Yesterday, I was offered a full time position at the school I work at as a special ed inclusion teacher. I was told by the principal, “You work hard, Megan. We all have noticed you work so hard.”

After a surreal day yesterday, and perhaps too much celebratory wine last night, I looked at my reflection today and said “Hey you, it’s been a while.”

I only have to work 2 more months in this exhausting, underpaid, under titled job, and I’ll be on salary.

Today I’ve still got a full day of school, a work out at the gym, full shift of tutoring, and then grad work to do - I’m pumped.
